Welcome to CCOW!The mission of Concerned Citizens Of Wakulla (CCOW) is to bring the community together for a better Wakulla. CCOW is an incorporated, non-partisan, non-profit organization. Our members come from all walks of life. We work for our children and grandchildren. CCOW members believe that a fair and just community can only be achieved through the practice of and commitment to democratic principles and values. CCOW’s three major aims are:
CCOW believes in protecting the ecological health and fragile natural beauty of Wakulla County while allowing for well-thought-out growth and change. CCOW was founded to create a way for ordinary citizens to raise public awareness of local issues and to have some influence with our local politicians. We are especially concerned about the badly designed development that has been occurring in Wakulla County which degrades the quality of life of all Wakulla County residents. We meet on the third Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Wakulla County Public Library, 4330 Crawfordville Highway (also known as Highway 319), about four miles south of the County Courthouse in Crawfordville. It's about 1.3 miles north of the intersection of Highways 319 and 98 in Medart. Come and visit us at one of our meetings and see if you are interested in becoming a member of CCOW. Dues are $10 per person per year or $15 per family per year. |
